Artificial intelligence as organizational strategic decision support: a literature review

Abstract

The main objective of the article was to explore the current theoretical framework of Artificial Intelligence in the service of organizational strategic decisions. The research was descriptive and was developed through the review of reliable databases such as Scielo and Scopus. In its methodology, an exhaustive review was used for the selection of twenty relevant articles for the literature analysis with search strategies, the eligibility criteria for the selection of relevant studies and the sample selection method based on the PRISMA model. In addition, a comparative and critical analysis of the different states of the art regarding AI and its application in organizational strategic decisions is presented. In conclusion, the support of artificial intelligence in organizational decision making generates a positive change in the business environment so it is recognized that organizations implement different AI tools according to their needs to improve their competitive advantages. Likewise, it was detected that the implementation of AI should be taken as a complement to human judgment or as a support tool because it is not really recognized positively when making critical decisions.
