ASEHACO Program to Develop Social Skills in 5-Year-Old Students at a Public School in Huancayo

Abstract

Social skills are essential for the comprehensive development of children since they favor their social integration, citizen participation and construction of their life project. They are fundamental in early childhood education, as they contribute to the social development of children from an early age, promoting their adaptation and coexistence in society. In this context, it was observed that 5-year-old children presented difficulties in the development of these skills, which is why the ASEHACO program was proposed as a strategy to promote their growth in this area, where the objective was to establish the influence of the ASEHACO program in the development of social skills in 5-year-old students of a Public Educational Institution of Huancayo, for which the experimental method was used with a quasi-experimental design. The results show that in the entry evaluation the highest percentage in the experimental and control groups are located at the low level with 100% and 87.2% and in the exit evaluation in the experimental group a different result is evident because the highest percentage is located at the high level with 78.3% and in the control group it continues to remain at the same level with 85.1%. It is concluded that the ASEHACO program favorably influences the development of Social Skills in 5-year-old children since after the experiment they interact effectively and appropriately with their peers.
