Abstract

The study was conducted in the province of Satipo to determine production and the relationship between nitrogen content and crude fiber, with three regrowth periods of after-pruning, in Erythrina sp. Established as protein banks. An area of 360 m2 of Erythrina sp. bank established in a previous year was used. The independent variable was: regrowth period, 30 days regrowth, 60 days regrowth, and 90 days of regrowth, for which pruning standardization was performed at a height of 100 cm which was considered as zero day of Regrowth.

The dependent variables were: green forage yield per plant (g), dry matter yield per plant (g), protein content (%) and crude fiber content (%). Protein variables and crude fiber were evaluated in the facilities of the Laboratorio de Nutrición Animal of the Facultad de Zootecnia - UNCP. Descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) was used. Green forage production and dry matter increase as the period regrowth increments. The crude fiber content increases as the regrowth period increases, while the protein gets a maximum value at 60 days of regrowth, which then decreases. Therefore as regrowth period days increase, the crude fiber content increments and the nitrogen content decreases.
