Abstract

A web application was designed and implemented to achieve greater efficiency of academic tutoring in a university program. For this purpose, the study used randomized control groups evaluated at the end of each academic period regarding the time it takes to deliver the Tutoring Plan and Guide; the measurements were taken at the end of the periods 2020-I and 2020-II. The results revealed improvement in tutoring efficiency after implementing the web application in Scrum, improving delivery times, and prioritizing the tutor’s work up to 160%. The time to obtain the results of the self-diagnosis is faster, allowing a timely delivery of Mentoring Plans and Guides. The average time after implementation was 5 days compared to an average of 10 days without the implementation of the web application. In sum, the system facilitates and improves the obtaining of information for decision making. It is recommended that information technologies be used to improve the efficiency of tutorial work.
