The study of electromagnetic transients in electrical systems can be replicated using computational models and run in simulation software. Several circuits representing voltage and current behaviors in AC and DC circuits can be easily simulated; however, the experimental implementation, using physical components in the laboratory, has been very little developed. In this sense, an experiment was developed to theoretically model the behavior of voltages and currents in the analysis circuits using fundamental laws of electricity, then compared with experimental data. The results showed similarities between the theoretical models and the experimental data, both in amplitude and length of the current frequencies. However, the lack of equipment that allows the synchronization of opening and closing events of the switches that actuated the circuits, presented a complication for the analysis.
