Abstract

Controlling climatic factors through the use of greenhouses is important for improving crop production and quality, however these greenhouses are required to have a meteorological system that measure values of humidity, temperature, lighting, etc. The problem formulated for this research was: How does an intelligent monitoring system control environmental factors in a real prototype of a spinach production greenhouse? which has required the development of a prototype to verify that the temperature, relative humidity and soil moisture does not exceed the previously assigned control values. This qualitative and quantitative approach required the presentation of the characteristics of the prototype behaviour and the measurement of environmental factors of the greenhouse, besides, it is Technological Research, because scientific knowledge was applied to propose the formulated problem solution to contribute with society and specifically to agricultural activities. The prototype of an intelligent control system includes the software and hardwarerequired to control environmental factors of a greenhouse in the Junin Region.  After this research development, it is concluded that, with an error of 5%, the average values of temperature (13.36 ˚C), relative humidity (86.85 %) and soil humidity (83.25 %) measured in the actual greenhouse prototype do not exceed the maximum control values considered for this study, which were 15 ˚C, 90% and 90 % r espectively.
