Abstract

The present study determinated the removal of lead in the waters of the Shullcas River Huancayo district using aluminum sulfate with the Test of Pitcher method. This treatment was conducted with two replicates 4x1, the coagulant flocculant used was aluminum sulphate in four doses of 0, 25, 50 and 75ppm, each with two replicates treatment. The water samples were collected near the mouth of the Mantaro river, lead analyzes were performed resulting in a concentration of 0.2470 ppm. Treatment was performed with samples of water that were prepared according to model the initial concentration of the Shullcas river lead, according to the requirement for treatment. For treatment were prepared 8 beakers of 2 liters with 1 liter of water sample in each vessel, to which were added the aluminum sulphate dose according to established treatments. The conditions for the treatment were coagulation: rapid agitation 100rpm, 5min. flocculation: slow stirring 50rpm; 20min. Decanting: 60min. After treatment the analysis of lead to each sample was performed, the best treatment outcome with dose of 75 ppm of aluminum sulfate removed 84% of lead.
