Abstract

Descriptive and co relational Cross-Sectional study was conducted using the database generated in different studies conducted by those responsible for this project, in 84 families with children under 5 years of Concepcion Province, in Chambará, Orcotuna and Aco districts to know the relationship between household food situations
and nutritional status of children under 5 years. The study showed that family food production cannot satisfactorily meet their food needs by multiple factors as the use of inappropriate technologies, seasonality, climate, and consumption of energy diets rich. The percentage of stunting was 36,9% and anemia was 58,3%. The stunting percentage was inversely associated with educational level of mothers, homes properly constituted, concrete material of the walls, treated water, more frequent consumption of potatoes, beans, guinea pig meat,
tripe (mondongo), eggs, milk, green vegetables and citrus fruit, food support (PVL, popular dinign, Wawa Wasi) and the proper venting of smoke in the kitchen.
