Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine whether Tarmeña families are interested in incorporating a vegetarian or vegan dish in their daily menu, in order to know the health benefits that motivate the consumption of vegetarian food in the population; optimizing the lifestyle of consumers, to achieve the consumption of vegetarian food and thus prevent diseases such as: obesity, diabetes, cancer, among others. As for the methodology, it is of descriptive type presenting a quantitative approach, and representing the results through percentages using the Excel program. The research design is non-experimental because the variables and dimensions under study will not be manipulated; it is also cross-sectional, since the information will be collected at a single point in time. Our research population was the families of Tarma, the type of sampling used was non-probabilistic and intentional, and 21 families were selected. It is concluded that the pandemic and the confinement have brought varied consequences in our families and daily routines. Undoubtedly, what has changed the most is the way we eat, since there is a lower energy expenditure and a higher intake of carbohydrates.
