Abstract

Presented here, a pedagogical experience in process at the Juan Luis Londoño Educational Institution in La Cuesta; aimed at strengthening the scientific competencies of students in the area of Natural Sciences, through classroom strategies based on inquiry, experimentation and critical thinking, seeking to promote meaningful learning, from various classroom activities. The experience is structured in three phases: strengthening basic scientific thinking skills, appropriation of technological tools and articulation with STEM projects linked to sustainability.

This experiential design integrates the use of the scientific method, data analysis, communication of results and collaborative work, favoring the development of skills such as observation, hypothesis formulation, problem solving and decision-making. The results show an increase in scientific curiosity, creativity and understanding of the importance of science in solving contextual problems.

Overall, experience shows that innovative classroom strategies constitute an effective way to train students who are critical, reflective and committed to the environmental and technological challenges of their environment.
