Technological intervention strategies for Social Work in a Community Mental Health Center

Abstract

The intervention of the Social Worker in Community Mental Health Centers has been little studied and even more so in Peru, due to the fact that these centers have recently been implemented, also the health emergency we are going through has challenged many professionals, including the Social Worker and has demanded innovation in their intervention through the use of technological strategies that, being a scarce subject, this is the importance of the study, which has the objective of analyzing the technological intervention strategies of Social Work in the Community Mental Health Center of Concepción. In the development of the process, the descriptive method was used, with a qualitative approach, where the interview technique was used, with a sample made up of three Social Workers from the Community Mental Health Center of Concepción. The results showed that, in their intervention, the Social Workers used technological strategies, such as social networks, virtual platforms and the digitization of instruments, which allowed them to reach users and carry out coordination with institutions and organizations in this pandemic. In conclusion, Social Workers have reinvented themselves by innovating their knowledge and tools that were only on paper, relying on office applications such as Word and Excel and now learning to use technology to disseminate information through social networks and create, for example, virtual surveys, through Google Forms in which they may or may not be applied through virtual platforms.
