Giant ovarian tumor: a case report

We present the case of a 58-year-old married patient, weight 78 kg, who came to the hospital 2 years ago referring progressive increase of abdominal and pelvic volume, the last months she presented shortness of breath on exertion, more frequent urination and lack of appetite, feeling of postprandial fullness due to over distension with inability to stand up by herself so she remains in supine decubitus. She was diagnosed with an ovarian-dependent tumor mass by ultrasonography. Laparotomy was performed and a tumor of the right ovary weighing 45 kg was resected. The anatomopathological study concluded benign ovarian teratoma.
