Interculturality and social development: the case of the native population of the Ashaninka village in the district of Chanchamayo - 2022

Abstract

In the Peruvian scenario, interculturality is a fundamental pillar for social development in the construction of more equitable communities, this in spaces of interaction and expression of diverse cultures as is the case of the Ashaninka citadel in Chanchamayo. The objective of the research is to describe how the dynamics of interculturality are manifested in the social development of the population of the Ashaninka citadel; pointing out the meaning it acquires and identifying the challenges and opportunities. In the development, the qualitative approach was used, the basic type of research, descriptive level with phenomenological-hermeneutic design; The technique was the interview and the instrument was the structured interview that was carried out with 10 residents as key informants. The result of the research allows us to show how cultural self-identification and the implementation of culture expressed through crafts and community tourism offer opportunities that are not only reduced to the economic, but also allow the Ashaninkas to preserve their cultural practices. and strengthen their identity while generating income. Likewise, the challenges and opportunities faced by interculturality were highlighted, with the use of the mother tongue being a barrier and prejudice in access to social development. In conclusion, interculturality is a cornerstone in the social development of the population of the Ashaninka citadel.
