Abstract

The prevailing conception of the articulation of migration and the socio-spatial redesign of the district of San Jerónimo de Tunan presupposes that migration promotes development. This article proposes the construction of a global vision of the phenomenon from antecedents that, fulfilling the function of demystifying the conventional vision, reveal fundamental aspects of the process of social and spatial reconfiguration promoted in the last three decades in our country, specifically the Comasino migrant case. and Huancavelicanos to the district of San Jerónimo de Tunan between 2010 and 2017, where the migration of entire families is witnessed due to multiple factors, for which the objective was to know the factors that have caused migration to the district by the migrants from Comas and Huancavelica. The method used for the research is scientific, with a qualitative, ethnographic, descriptive, basic, correlational design approach, the sample is made up of Comasino and Huancavelicano migrants over 30 years of age settled in the district. The acquired results refer that at present the district of San Jerónimo is characterized by its fervent artisanal and commercial activity, which has given it a very particular social, economic and cultural dynamism in the Valley due to migration, identifying a desire of the migrant to improve their quality of life, both in education and in employment. Concluding that the migration to meaning in the Comasinos and Huancavelicanos are due to factors such as quality of life, social integration, education, work and family and their relationships.
