Abstract

The purpose of the research was to establish whether or not there are differences in the development of empathy in secondary school teachers in urban and rural areas of the province of Tarma: The study had a quantitative approach, of a substantive descriptive type, the descriptive level , the methods used were the scientific method as general and the descriptive method as specific, the design was comparative descriptive; the population consisted of 803 high school teachers of both sexes from urban and rural areas of the different districts of the province of Tarma and a non-probabilistic sample of 267 teachers; the techniques used were psychometry, direct and reactive observation, the instrument used was the empathy scale in secondary school teachers, for the ordering of the information obtained and the data processing, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used. And for the general and specific hypothesis tests, the Mann-Whitney U test was used.
