VL - 1 IS - 2 SE - Artículos DO - UR - https://revistas.uncp.edu.pe/index.php/reflexiones/article/view/1506 SP - 96 -108 AB - <p>The arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic brought with it many changes and challenges that each one of us had to face, for example, musicians belonging to a labor sector that depends on the affluence and attendance of the public to events and social gatherings; with the restrictions dictated as a security measure, their work activity was drastically affected and they had to reinvent themselves and opt for multi-activity as a survival measure in this context. In this sense, the study aimed to describe the labor situation of folk musicians in times of pandemic by COVID-19 in the city of Huancayo during the year 2020, for this, the qualitative methodology was used and the in-depth interview technique was applied, from which results were obtained that show that folk musicians in the city of Huancayo in the context of pandemic are developing alternative activities, they work without contracts or established schedules. In the execution of their work, they are exposed to various risks, mainly COVID-19 infection; thus, concluding that, in this population, informal and alternative work predominates, characterized by precariousness in terms of stability, working hours and job security; in addition, in this pandemic context, folk musicians have job opportunities thanks to their family and friends.</p> ER -
